The Izel Crossbody has a unique silhouette compared to a traditional crossbody. It features two separate compartments, perfect to organize your belongings. The main compartment also featured an inner pocket for more organization. The interior of this bag, is beautifully lined with corte. The corte is the skirt part of the traditional outfit. Our team has collaborated with a local leather-man, who has helped design and craft each bag.

The meaning behind the name Izel, it is a variant spelling of Itzel, which is a variant spelling of the name Ixchel, which is a the name of the Mayan goddess of the earth, moon and medicine.

Artisans

This unique huipil and corte was sustainably sourced from our artisan partner Don Edgar. The leather body is beautifully hand-crafted by Don Fernando using top-grade leather.
